Bret Piatt​

Chief Executive Officer

Bret is a career technologist with decades of experience in roles that range from hands-on research and development to executive leadership and board oversight. He is CEO of CyberFortress, a global company providing backup built for the world’s best recovery. Previously, he was CEO and Chairman of the Board for Jungle Disk, now a part of CyberFortress, a company created by a management-led carve-out he orchestrated while at Rackspace. As general manager at Rackspace, Piatt oversaw a 300-person SaaS business with a $150M+ annual revenue portfolio and 75,000 customers. He worked on the Corporate Development & Strategy team as the M&A lead, chaired the Intellectual Property Committee, and helped create OpenStack, the primary project in one of the world’s most successful open-source software communities. Bret has also held product management and engineering positions for AT&T. This included post-merger integration of AT&T’s global managed firewall service, which would be named a Leader in the Gartner MSSP Magic Quadrant. Piatt is active in transforming his home city into a technology leader through community involvement with TechBloc, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and additional activities.

Seema Chacko​

Chief Operating Officer

Seema, CyberFortress COO, is a highly regarded financial professional in the cloud and software technology communities. Previously she held the same post for Jungle Disk. She has served as CFO at Scaleworks, vice president of finance and accounting at Propel Financial Services, and held multiple financial roles at Rackspace. Over the course of her career she has successfully built out scalable, growth-oriented finance and accounting teams that held particularly focused partnership with their businesses.

Ryan Tate​

Chief Financial Officer​

Ryan has 20 years of experience in finance and accounting; most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer for Tradeshift, a cloud-based supply chain platform company. Prior to Tradeshift, Ryan spent 12 years at Rackspace in roles spanning SEC reporting, investor relations and general corporate accounting functions. He served as the company’s Corporate Controller working closely with the Private Equity owners on transformation initiatives and he helped lead the company through its August 2020 IPO. Ryan began his career in public accounting at KPMG where he was an Audit Manager working with both public and private clients. Ryan, who is based in San Antonio, is a CPA and holds an M.S. Accounting from Trinity University.

William Alberts​

General Counsel​

William serves as general counsel and secretary at CyberFortress, a post he held for Jungle Disk. Previously, he served on the global legal team at Rackspace as general counsel, senior vice president and secretary. He led efforts to take Rackspace public in 2008 and through their $4.3 billion private transaction in 2016. During his tenure, he grew a legal team from four generalists to 45 functional specialty personnel. Before that, William was counsel at Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld, LLP, a global law firm of over 900 lawyers, where he specialized in corporate governance, M&A and securities law.

John Garza

Vice President Sales & Marketing

John comes to CyberFortress from Jungle Disk, where he held the Director of Customer Experience role, applying more than two decades of IT experience to shape customer experience. Prior to Jungle Disk, he served as the US sales leader of Rackspace Cloud Office, where he led a diverse team of professionals from online chat to enterprise field representatives. While there, he oversaw the Infrastructure Cloud Solutions and Qualification teams. John also spent time in the financial services industry, serving real estate clients at Countrywide Financial and Accredited Home Lenders.

Amanda Matthews

Vice President of Customer Experience ​

Amanda serves as Vice President Customer Experience, having previously held the Vice President of Business Operations position for Jungle Disk. She has an impressive history for surpassing goals and positioning businesses for success by building highly accomplished teams dedicated to operational excellence. Before Jungle Disk, she led multiple customer support teams at Rackspace focused on elevating the customer experience. She has an innate ability to quickly identify and actualize ideas, employing shrewd strategies to maximize organizational capabilities, operations, service offerings and team performance.

Scott Graham

Vice President Technical Operations​ ​

Scott serves as vice president of technical operations at CyberFortress, a position he previously held at Jungle Disk. He was formerly vice president of network operations and customer service for cloud backup at J2 Global, managing over 100 data centers globally and responsible for all cloud services’ technical operations. Before J2, he was director of enterprise infrastructure services for iRobot, driving the migration of all computing and mission-critical applications to the cloud. Scott brings over 30 years of senior-level experience to managing infrastructures and cloud strategies for global companies supporting customer-facing applications.

George Israel

VP of Product, Engineering & Information Systems​​

George is a seasoned product leader with over 20 years of expertise in product management, storage, and cloud technologies. He has a proven track record of driving product strategy, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and drive business growth. George's experience spans industry giants such as EMC, Amazon, Rackspace, Dell, and Cisco. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Cornell University.

Steve Priolo, CCEP, CCEP-I

Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer

Steve serves as the Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at CyberFortress, where he oversees the ethics and compliance programs for the company. This includes building the corporate ethics and compliance program, privacy program and security compliance program. Prior to joining CyberFortress, Steve spent 16 years at Rackspace where he built their ethics and compliance program and oversaw multiple components of the enterprise compliance program, including their law enforcement compliance program. Steve has also served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Mary’s School of Law teaching the Compliance, Ethics and Risk course for the Master of Jurisprudence program.
